Rabies Vaccination Policy

At Gray Animal Center, the health and safety of our patients, clients, staff, and community is our top priority. To uphold this standard and comply with Maine State Law (§3916), we are updating our rabies vaccination policy.

Effective immediately:

• All patients must have a current rabies vaccination on record prior to any exams, treatments, or procedures.
• If a rabies vaccine is due at the time of your visit, or if we do not have up-to-date records, the vaccine will be administered during your appointment, provided your pet is healthy enough as determined by the veterinarian.

This policy helps protect everyone in our care and ensures we are meeting state requirements. If a rabies vaccination cannot be updated at the time of the visit, we may need to postpone services until requirements are met.
